    Donald Crumpton Mosley


    Donald Crumpton Mosley, age 75, a native of Starkville, Mississippi, and a long time resident of Mobile, Alabama, died Monday, July 30, 2007. A graduate of Mississippi State University, he received his master's degree from the University of Tennessee and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. Dr. Mosley came to Mobile in August of 1973 to serve as the second Dean of the College of Business and Management Studies at the University of South Alabama until 1982 when he returned to teaching and consulting. While Dean of the business college, he was instrumental in bringing the Alabama Banking School to USA. He also served as Dean of the Community Leadership Program of Mobile, Dean of Leadership Mississippi, and taught at the LSU Banking School of the South.

    In 1999, the USA Board of Trustees approved his appointment as Emeritus Professor of Management and the USA Alumni Association awarded him outstanding professor.

    He is survived by his wife, Susan Young Mosley, his son, Donald C. Mosley, Jr. (Emily), two granddaughters, Meredith and Caroline, his brother, Joe Thomas Mosley (Margaret) from Starkville, MS, his mother-in-law, Martha Baird Young of Murray House in Mobile, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    A service will be held at All Saints' Episcopal Church on Monday August 6, 2007. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., followed by the church service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to All Saints' Episcopal Church, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
